Jun 14, 2018 On drug message boards like Bluelight, the r/kratom subreddit, and Erowid, alongside reports of chronic pain management, there’s no shortage of first-hand accounts written by recreational kratom.
I'm currently on Subutex to treat my opioid dependency. I'm on the third month of the treatment - I switched to 16mg of Buprenorphine daily from 150mcg per hour of transdermal fentanyl. In other words, my opioid tolerance is sky high.

I was on the fentanyl for chronic pain. Obviously, the fentanyl worked well to treat the pain, but I hated being constantly tired. In addition, I found that being constantly stoned awoke my inner cynic / asshole. I'm a very intelligent person, and I found myself constantly belittling others who I viewed as less intelligent (where normally I keep such thoughts to myself). I had a family member tell me I'm just like Dr. House, except I'm good with computers instead of medicine; I don't know if that was a compliment or an insult, but I didn't like it either way.

Anyway, all that to say: the Buprenorphine is doing great at treating my opioid dependency, but I'm still in constant pain. Sometimes it's manageable, but other times it gets to be a 10/10 on the pain scale, and there's not really anything I can do for it.
So, my question: can I take Kratom at the same time as subutex, or will the Buprenorphine block any opioid receptor activity that the Kratom might otherwise have? Will taking Kratom show up on my monthly piss test (required for taking subutex)? Should I try some certain strain? Anything else I should be asking here but forgot?
TL;DR: I'm wondering if I can take Kratom and experience pain relief from it while I'm already taking subutex to treat my opioid dependency.
Thanks in advance for any help!
